Medensan

I listened to some veterans of the civil rights movement talk about how students and Black Greeks got rid of the designations: colored and negro as our ethnic names. They said that the students took the vilest word in the english language: Black, and made it our beautiful ethnic name.

African-American followed as our name. None of these can suffice as ethnic names. This hit me like a brick in the face when I read the contents at Home Page People in this country have already begun to call themselves Medensans. It is now up to this generation of students and all Black, African-American people to take charge of our destiny by proclaiming ourselves by our proper ethnic name: Medensan! We must become an ethnic people if we are to survive this global explosion where everybody knows who they are except us!
