PHOTO GALLERY GUIDELINES & USAGE:

BGF has added a new feature – the Photo Gallery - to make our community an even better place to meet and greet. The Photo Gallery allows each member to set up their very own photo album. Feel free to post anything thing you like except pictures involving nudity or otherwise illegal material.

Each member is allotted a total of 450 kb (kilabytes) of space for their personal photo album and a maximum size of 800 x 800 pixels – roughly 8.33 x 8.33 inches. This amounts to roughly 10 to 12 decent quality photos of an average of 38 to 48 kb each in size - depending on the size of each photo. To re-size your photos we suggest using irfanView, a free graphics viewer/editor. See: http://www.irfanview.com

Using irfanView, the easiest way to reduce the file size of photos is to decrease the numbers of colors in the photo - to do this, select Image (in the irfanView tool bar) select decrease color depth - then select 256 colors - then Save your file. Using 256 colors reduces file size dramatically.

Each forum member has the ability to add or delete their photos whenever they wish. For example, should you reach the maximum space for your photo album, delete photos and upload some new ones. In this way your Photo Album always stays stocked with fresh content.

ADDING PHOTOs:

Go to the Photo Gallery page: http://www.blackgreekforum.com/gallery/

Click on UPLOAD

At the top of the box, it will show “Your Stats” – this shows how much space you have for storing photos. It will read : 450 kb.

Go to Image Options: Click on the browse button – locate the photos on your computer you wish to upload - one by one. You can upload 3 images at a time

If you wish – enter a Title to your photo - this is totally optional.

Also, you can enter a Description – totally optional.

Choose a Category – in this case choose: Member Photo Albums (only one category available for now). You MUST choose a category or you will get an error message.

Press SUBMIT

Give it a moment and photos will display.


DELETING PHOTOs

Once you upload a photo – you may wish to delete it at some point to clear space. Here’s how:

Go to Photo Gallery home page.

Click on Member Photo Albums; Userames are arranged alphabetically. Click on your username.

Click on the photo you wish to DELETE. To the right in the menu bar – click on IMAGE TOOLS then Click EDIT IMAGE ---- check the small box asking if you wish to delete ---- then click on the delete box just below.
